SO… How was it? I mean, the honeymoon… ride?

so, just 3 weeks ago, on Dec 1st which is my birthday, John married me.
(hohoho Mr.pinkreaper! you made a huge mistake! :D)

_MG_7599

60people came to our formal wedding reception,
then evening party with 100 friends!!
It was AWWWWWWWWESOME!
well, after party and party and party AND PARTY and a good sleep,
we flew over to thunderstormy Honolulu (I never experienced that much rain in Hawaii!!)

and spent another Dec 1st (Thank IDL that we had LOOOONG anniversary day!)

Anyway, we had no plan and nothing much to do in the island.
So, on our DAY4 in Oahu, we googled the local bike shops, asked around,
hoping for a chance to ride somewhere.

All we needed was bikes, transportation, guide, and trail.

well, I guess you guys all know Oahu is not much for MTB.
We could easily find some rental bike shops or cycling tour and such
but nothing like what we were expected.
(I know I know you would say that we should have gone to Kauai or Maui!! or even Big Island is better to chose for ride)

In the end, our only choice was this “100% dirt MTB Kaaawa Valley” by bikehawaii.com
we checked their website, even checked the youtube,
then we thought

“Nah”

but no other choice, and our brain was already set as MTB mode anyway.
we decided to pay 300bucks total and hoped it would not be wasted…

and…well,

believe me,

I am soooooooooooo glad that we did chose their MTB tour after all!!
No, there was no lie, that was 100% dirt,
stunning ocean views and amazing scenery with such a nice guide and the tour members!

100%dirt

It was not like riding a “trail ” but u can ride with enjoying such an amazing landscape. Definitely worth the price 🙂
Next time I love to discover big island or Kauai island !

  6. Quan says:

Your photos are great!! My husband’s family live right next to the ranch. Did they have different routes available?

    • mtbtokyogirl says:

Right next to the ranch!! Wonderful!! Well I seemed like they have some other routes. Depends on the riders’ ability and request ( and weather) you could ask then for different routes for sure!!
I hope someday I could visit big island or Kauai too!
Btw, I loved your blog! Enjoy them so much!

      • Quan says:

We’re thinking about Kauai for Christmas! There’s a great backpacking trip that I’ve had my eye on… and it now sounds like I’ll be adding in a day of riding. I’ll keep you updated.
Love your blog, too. Keeps me motivated!
