Fujiten MTB park for weekend

So,
after 1.5months absence from MTB,
I finally got the chance to go ride yesterday.

Mt. Fuji and our bikes :)

Mt. Fuji and our bikes 🙂

This time, John choose Fujiten ski valley which is open as a bike park during summer time.
I said “bike park ” but DO NOT imagine a park like Whistler!!
This Fujiten has only got 5 or 6 very really short DH courses and each trail is only 2-3min long.

let's get goin!

Open from 9am – 4:30pm and
we rode around and round for fully 6.5hrs! Total 21laps!
Felt like being a rat running wheels in the cage!

Anyway, at around noon, we had to take a break but not for lunch.
Actually we didn’t take a lunch break and kept riding.
BUT!!!
just as we done another short one and riding down the grass slope with full speed,

Bang!!!

“John! I got flat! ”
“Sh*t! mine too !! ”

🙂

10min or so later when we finished changing the tubes…

“John! Look!! Another one’s flat too!! ”
“What!? Really?! Wait…  ”
(He checked his another tire too)
“Shit!!!!”

Hahahahahaha!! 🙂

We got both tires flat together 🙂
Which proved that I do ride his line exactly the same!  😉

First time I got flat since started MTB!! sweet!

First time I got flat since started MTB!! sweet!

We took extra time on changing and fixing tubes, so decided not to take any more rest but just ride as much as we can till they close 😉

aaaand I enjoyed alot!
Fun ride, enough practice for cornering, nice drops…

Oh, and John exchanged bike with me for the last few times but Oh my freakin Gosh!! his full suspension bike,Turner, was crazy!
Super easy to ride dirt!
Roots? Nothing!
Rocks? Nothing!
All I had to do was just hold the grip tight enough.
It took me wherever I wanted to go!

Bike park ride is nice and so much fun with no stress about climbing up the hill but I realized no matter how much I hate uphills I prefer to ride a “real” trails 😉

Ride a lot! Eat at lot!!

    初のふじてんで21周やりますな!自分は昼食休憩必須!そのくせ午後は数本走って終わりです。情けない(^^;

      私はゆっくりしか走れないから疲れないんですよー♪
      お昼食べてる時間あったら走りたいな~、って、大きな子ども状態でした♪

You really are a super happy girl. Way to look at a misadventure as an adventure. 😉

    Hi Super Happy Tokyo Girl,
I’ll be visiting Japan this month (business) and I am thinking of riding a MTB over the WE of Oct 26/27th.
Do you know if the Fujiten MTB park will be open (sorry I found their website but even Google Translate couldn’t help me)?
If so, is it possible to rent a MTB there?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

    • mtbtokyogirl says:

      Thanx for visiting David!
And sorry about my late reply!
Well, according to the official website fujiten MTB park is open till Nov 4th.
Mon, Tue, Fri is park maintenance days and not open.
Sure! You can rent a bike there. (Not much selection though )
      Enjoy!

Thanks! I am hesitating between going to Sagamiko Pleasure Forest MTB Field. ( http://www.sagamiko-resort.jp/mtb/index.html ) or to Fuji-Ten. Which one is better according to your experience, for a full day of riding?

      • mtbtokyogirl says:

Ok, I just asked John but he said the Sagamiko one has been closed down ( like went broke or something. see? MTB is not popular or not familiar to Japanese yet! anyways…)
There is one called Fujimi MTB park http://www.fujimipanorama.com/mtb/ which is bigger than Fujiten and pretty awesome park but Fujimi is a bit far from Tokyo.
It seems like Fujimi is also open around the time you are planning to ride.
you better check the website or call and ask them before heading there to make sure though!!

      • David says:

Thanks for the tip on Sagamiko! I had found the Fujimi MTB park but it’s too far from Shinkjuku. I’ll go to Fuji-ten then! Thanks again! Enjoy the WE!

      • mtbtokyogirl says:

yeah thought a bit too far! and from Shinjuku!! OHHH then too far for sure!!
anyway, ENJOY too!! God I’m jealous! I wish I could go ride toooooo!! 😉 see ya!

      • David says:

Well, feel free to join me!

      • mtbtokyogirl says:

Now I wonder if u were lucky enough to get the chance to ride @ fujiten or any better place, David.
I wish u had a real good time in
        Japan anyways!

      • David says:

        Hi Tokyo Girl,
        I didn’t ride a bike :-(.
Fuji-Ten & the other MTB park I had found closed on Oct 20th (end of the summer season) plus there was a small typhoon last Saturday (am) in Tokyo so I didn’t do much…
        Better luck next time!

      • mtbtokyogirl says:

Awww too bad! Typhoon! Right right! Well, next time!! 😉

  5. Benjemin says:

I will have to ride in this summer about August. Can I have your contact? 私は今日本語学校で勉強している,夏休みときは静岡とか富士でmtbバイキングしたいです

    • mtbtokyogirl says:

sounds great!! I wish I could ride as well but because of having 3months babies I can’t ride at all!!!
Leave questions here and I will try to help you getting info as much as I can!!
I recommend you to find a local bike shop (not sure which bike shop we could introduce you depend on where you stay) and find someone to ride along with you!!
Google the Fujiten bike park and 富士見パノラマ which is two major MTB park! 🙂

    • mtbtokyogirl says:

Oh and I just saw advertisement for another MTB course and tour guide info
      Google “白馬岩岳MTBコース”
It’s a new MTB course and I don’t know if it’s good or not but looks good 😉
